ABOUT THE SESSION

Joar Dalheim, Vice President of Technology at Vysus Group, holds a PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and brings over three decades of experience in advanced computational modelling for the oil and gas industry. Throughout his career, he has focused on techniques such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Modelling (FEM), with a strong emphasis on enhancing safety and operational performance. Joar has developed deep expertise in probabilistic modelling, simulating a wide range of potential outcomes for accidental events to support more informed decision-making and effective risk mitigation strategies. He is now set to share his views on DQRA – Digital and Dynamic 3D Risk Watcher and Activity Planner

He will present how traditional QRAs, while effective during the design phase, often lack the agility needed to support day-to-day operational decisions. Recognizing this gap, Vysus Group has introduced a transformative approach through Digital QRA (DQRA) — a dynamic, 3D-enabled solution that harnesses live digital data to continuously assess risk. Unlike static reports, DQRAs provide a real-time, visual representation of risk that evolves with ongoing operations. This innovation brings risk management directly into the control room, empowering operators with clearer insights, quicker responses, and enhanced safety. It marks a shift from passive documentation to proactive, data-driven decision support.
