Dr. Maksim Sonin is a senior executive in the global energy and industrial sectors, widely recognized for steering strategic investments and delivering complex, multi-billion-dollar capital developments from concept through operations. Across his career, he has led projects exceeding $15 billion per development, working across diverse geographies with teams spanning five continents. He has held executive leadership and board-level roles at major enterprises including UCC, overseeing a $10B+ capital project portfolio, Silleno with its $7B+ world-scale petrochemical complex, and KMG Petrochem, managing large-scale gas treatment and industrial infrastructure programs.
Beyond capital execution, Dr. Sonin plays an active role in shaping the future of energy systems, digital transformation, and emerging technologies. He is an elected Fellow of the UK Energy Institute (FEI) and the UK Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET), and a member of the Stanford Hydrogen Initiative and the Center for Fuels of the Future.
